- Quick consultation: through specialized Small Language Model libraries, it accelerates the identification of key information within the large volume of technical documentation available;
- Historical data loading: Matilde integrates with existing LIMS systems (e.g. Labware, Labvantage, Thermo Scientific), PLM and ERP systems, importing past formulations, laboratory tests and measured properties;
- AI learning: the innovative Explainable AI models based on Graph Neural Networks (GNN) analyze the relationships between ingredients and identify hidden patterns in the data, uncovering correlations and similarities that a formulator would not be able to identify independently;
- Prediction and simulation: by entering an ingredient composition, Matilde immediately predicts properties such as viscosity, pH, stability, density, hardness, and sector-specific sensory parameters, supporting the formulator step by step throughout the formulation process.
3. What sets Matilde apart from traditional software?
MATILDE stands apart from traditional software solutions supporting R&D teams (such as PLM, LIMS, etc.) because it is natively built on advanced Artificial Intelligence models, designed to generate predictions, comparative analyses and similarity assessments from laboratory data.
MATILDE complements existing solutions:
- it works alongside LIMS, which primarily handle the collection and management of laboratory test data;
- it integrates with PLM systems, which govern the product lifecycle once the formula has been approved.
MATILDE intervenes earlier, in the most exploratory and critical phase of the formulation process. It is the formulator’s workbench, which they can use to:
- track intermediate trials,
- explore alternative ingredients,
- compare similar formulations,
- generate and validate solution hypotheses,
until the optimal formula is identified. Unlike traditional systems, MATILDE does not simply manage data — it transforms it into actionable insights and predictions to support R&D decision-making.
4. How does Matilde protect proprietary formulations?
- Complete Data Isolation: Customer data, including formulations, tests and derived models, is completely separated and is not accessible by other tenants or organizations.
- Models remain company assets: Versions of models trained on customer data remain the exclusive property of the company and are not incorporated into general models shared with other users, nor used to train external models.
- No third-party sharing: Data is not shared with external partners or suppliers and is not used for purposes other than the agreed operational ones.
- Privacy regulation compliance: We operate in Europe. Therefore, the platform is fully compliant with GDPR and best practices in data security, with access controls and policies that protect sensitive information.
